Twelve Summers Adam Zwar. Where were you, cricket lovers, during the calamity that was the 2013 Ashes? Adam Zwar was shooting a stunt in which Brett Lee was bowled over by bouncers while not wearing a helmet for a documentary about bodyline.

Twelve Summers Book Summary

He was urged not to do it by Matthew Hayden. However, the cameras had been set up. What was he going to do if he didn’t say yes? Consider the 1995 World Series Cup, when Australia A was on the verge of defeating Australia, and the players were demonstrating against authorities. Adam worked for an escort firm in Melbourne as a driver.

Crypto Wars Faked Deaths

Or how about the 2001 match between Australia and India? Adam was locked at a hotel with AC/DC at the time.

Cricket was in the background – or foreground – of every important event in Adam’s life. You don’t have to be a cricket fan to understand because we all remember where we were when something significant happened, whether it was a cricket test, an album release, or the end of a TV show.

Twelve Summers is a funny, touching, and thought-provoking novel. Even if you aren’t a cricket enthusiast, you will find much to like in this book.

Conclusion: Twelve Summers Review

Mr. Berkmann published Rain Men, a funny perspective on amateur cricket, which I regard as the best book ever written about cricket. I’ve read that book numerous times and enjoyed it each time. This one, on the other hand, is unique.

As the title suggests, it’s a hodgepodge compilation of facts and views regarding cricket, and it doesn’t hold my attention. I read it, thought to myself, “Yeah, ok,” set it aside, and doubted whether I would take it up again. It’s not intriguing enough, and it lacks Rain Men’s sharp comedy. That book, not this one, should be read.
