Summary Russia and China Relations

Military, economic, and political collaboration, are presented by leading specialists in the field. The authors shed new light on Chinese and Russian strategic ambitions, external push and pull forces, mutual perception alterations, as well as Western countries’ choices for influencing this evolution.

This book examines the trajectory of the relationship since the watershed moment of the Crimean crisis in 2014, and whether a full-fledged military alliance, as President Putin hinted at in late 2020, is a feasible possibility for which NATO must prepare. It will appeal to international relations students and experts, policymakers, and anybody interested in Eurasian politics and the military-strategic implications of a Russian-Chinese alliance for NATO.
